Activity Log

What it is

A running history of the meaningful things that happen in your admin panel — logins, content restored from the trash, an edit history rolled back, a new plugin installed, a user account changed — each entry showing who did it and when.

Why it matters

If you're the only person with access to your site, this is mostly a curiosity. The moment you add a second person — an editor, a contributor, someone helping out temporarily — it becomes genuinely useful. Instead of wondering "did someone delete this on purpose?" or "who's been logging in lately?", you have an actual answer instead of a guess. It's less about suspicion and more about the same peace of mind you'd want from any shared workspace: a record you can check if something ever looks off.

How to use it

Open Tools → Activity Log. If the list gets long, filter it down by a specific person or a specific kind of action to find what you're looking for without scrolling through everything else.

The log keeps a healthy amount of recent history and quietly makes room for new entries once it's full, so you don't need to do anything to maintain it yourself.
